I guess I can understand if people are turned off by this being a covid doc, but it is so much more than that. Some truly powerful filmmaking and storytelling about living through everything the pandemic threw at us, and more so at the people who dealt with it a lot closer to first hand than many other people. The Siev family’s story is probably the most essential we’ve seen so far to truly get the portrait of what at least the US went through from March-November of 2020. Everyone watch this please I cried at the end and I loved it.

This doc is aggressively American in its portrayal of an immigrant family owning a small business throughout the pandemic. The family battles racism, economic crisis and of course the effects of the Corona virus. Sadly I don’t think this added much to either of these very important but also very well documented topics. As a non American it’s hard to look past the family’s own faults when claiming moral high ground against anything from neo nazis to trump supporters or just shitty customers in general.
