I didn’t expect to like "Risky Business" this much honestly. It’s one of those movies that feels really fun on the surface, but there’s also something kind of sad underneath it the whole time. The 80s atmosphere is so good too—empty streets at night, synth music, that feeling of freedom mixed with panic.
Tom Cruise was perfect for this role because he actually feels like a teenager making dumb decisions instead of some polished movie character. The movie gets crazier as it goes on, but it never loses that weird calm feeling. It almost feels like a dream sometimes.
Also I get now why people love the aesthetic of this movie so much. Every scene just looks cool without trying too hard.
