A very different yet interesting movie. A movie that definitely fed off the fears of people during the Cold War and I would say a fun movie to watch for my official halfway point with IMDBs too 250 list. It’s also a bit ironic watching it the same day the attacks on Iran started, hope that’s not a bad omen. I will admit that some of the comedy seems a bit misplaced, it made it a little more ridiculous than it needed to be. I thought the performances throughout were very good and the music was also very well placed and done. My big pet peeve was when the general was firing the M1918 Browning while holding the barrel, that dude would’ve shot once then his hand would’ve been fused to the weapon. Other than those two critiques, I thought it was very well done, funny at times especially considering the past but probably not super funny in 1964. Shout out to the B-52 for still flying today, good Ol’ Buff. I’ll definitely watch this again if I’m not dead in the sandbox within the next couple months.
