this was certainly a film that was made and definitely did a disservice to the original. i mean the whole thing is just absolutely absurd like first of all why would these guys even care about these two people once they’ve fled the country they are completely off the grid and yet still they decide to hunt them down.
it also has some of the clunkiest dialogue ever i mean it seems like at times it’s these peoples first ever time speaking. now we’re lucky mick dundee has a fair bit of charm because with him being able to flaunt around his land and get on with his mates this would have some of the most boring characters ever.
now that being said the sprawling shots of the outback are proper class and then all of his driving buddies are like coked up version of what you’d find in an aussie pub so i can respect that at the very least. though we don’t get any of those shots in the fight sequences and instead get weird angles and little tricks.
the whole movie for the most part is so horribly contrived rubbish that makes these people do the most stupid stuff and honesty didn’t even give us all that much a satisfying ending
