Lionheat, also known as AWOL in the UK and Wrong Bet here in Australia, is a 1990s bare knuckle brawler, with lead (and co-writer) Jean-Claude Van Damme deserting his post in the French Foreign Legion, upon news that his brother is close to death, and brawling his way across the US to raise funds for his widowed sister-in-law and little niece Nicole (Ashley Johnson from Critical Role in her acting debut!).
Y'know this whole thing could have been avoided if the Foreign Legion had some sort of compassionate leave policy. Although probably not, JCVD would still have had to fight for the required dollars, and fight he does!
Be it on squash courts, in a headlight illuminated ring of cars where roller skating bookies take window to window bets or an empty pool, which was the one scene that I vividly remembered from watching this as a kid.
This is more like Street Fighter than the actual Street Fighter movie Van Damme made.
