10/10 why was this perfection. I came in with great expectations but oh my I was blown away. This honestly might be my favorite animated movie ever. I basically pirated this off of YouTube as I watched it in a playlist so the quality was down a little. But that still did not take me put the experience of this greatness. The voice acting here was phenomenal and I mean it. This quote hit me so hard at the start where everyone is downgrading Cody and thinks he’s a joke even partially his own mom he says “Cody's me, bro. Let me be me. When is that going to start?” He goes on his journey to go be himself and he wants to be a living legend like his idol Big Z. Also the comedy in this movie hits every-time i was literally crying laughing at points. I have no clue why it took me so long to watch this classic. Literally my only negative was they took a dig at Happy Feet during one point of the movie which was a childhood classic I watched all the time. Happy Feet might not hold up well because I haven’t seen it in like a decade but I will not stand for the hate. For anyone who has played sports before this is such a realistic approach to what sports culture is like. And the documentary format was just so amazing. They just knew what to do when they made this masterpiece. When we find out Geek is Big Z (which was very obvious) Cody feels like he can finally win. But when the big competition happens Cody realizes life ain’t always about winning from Big Z’s captivating words he takes Tank Evans out the race and his friend Chicken Joe wins is just the most insane peak writing in cinema history. This movie payed everything off so well at the end and this is certified hood classic. There is a Surf’s Up sequel which I heard was horrible but I still think I might want to watch to see if it has any of the greatness this one has.
