This is just one of those late ’90s movies that’s a good, old-fashioned, kick-back-and-relax kind of film.
Chris Tucker is very over the top at the beginning of the movie, almost to the point of being annoying, but as the film goes on, he gradually grows on you. He and Charlie Sheen make a really good pairing, playing off each other extremely well.
The buddy friendship they develop throughout the film, in an effort to clear their names and stay alive, works really well.
The finale of the film is where it truly shines—a magnificent shootout in a football stadium over some diamonds, with so many awesome set pieces and wicked explosions. This movie isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s a good time all around.
