Visuals-wise, this is fantastic. The location footage, the set pieces, the surreal dreamlike elements, all gorgeous. The plot is kinda whatever, but what truly drags this down is Leni Riefenstahl. Putting aside who she eventually became after this movie, she's just not a very good actor (and a lackluster dancer) and the film suffers because of it. I don't know if it's just the context of who she is or just how she acts here, but there's something just really off-putting about her.
