The Gorge had me in the first half I was really digging the atmosphere, the mystery, and the slow build. It felt like it was setting up something great and didn’t understand the negative reviews. But once it hit the back half, it kind of lost me. Things started to feel a bit messy, and some of the tension just didn’t land the same way. I liked the relationship between Levi and Drasa they had some solid moments and decent chemistry but it never got strong enough for me to actually care if they died. Also, some of the stuff they survive and the choices they make feel pretty unrealistic. It took me out of it a few times, especially when the movie clearly wants you to take everything seriously. That said, I still had a good time with it. It’s not a bad movie at all just one that starts stronger than it finishes.
