I used to adore these movies when I was younger and they still hold up pretty good today. In all honesty, I haven’t seen the original Madagascar in over a decade and definitely forgot the majority of it. It’s still funny and the animation is still great. The story is very basic but it’s a kids movie. King Julian and the penguins are by far the best characters even if they are side characters. The main character are a tad basic which brings the movie down a bit. There’s a ton of pop culture references which I always love and quite a few memorable quotes. It’s an all around good family friendly movie. Nothing wrong with it but not anything super special but yeah I’d watch it again. Hans Zimmer is the composer of this movie FYI.
