Quack Quack. Ever seen a duck unable to swim?

The way the trucks were personified, it feels like a ducked up episode of Thomas the tank engine. Or a regular transformers movie

The idea itself is quite funny and unique: some kind of western but with random ass trick drivers? Communication via radio really added something. The comedy part really didn't come short! They did well on that end.
Just take for example the bar fight. Looks incredibly unprofessional, but it's funny af.
Also the interviews on the road were quite absurd and entertaining

Also they captured this little community they formed on the road quite well. When they had these showers or they recruited new people along the side of the road, that euphoria really spread.

The capture of that one guy made the story turn for the better, it added some more needed stakes.

The story can't even remotely cover the 112 minutes fully. It is really unnecessarily Lengthened. I mean what really happened? 3 truck drivers get in trouble with police. It escalates. They flee. Unintentionally, people join in some kind of protest. A politician tries to use this as a campaign. They get away with faking the main guys death. Thats not nearly 2 hours worth. You could easily cut 30 minutes.

The main characters being misogynistic macho-pricks does not help the movie id say.
Women are really included just for sexual objectification...

The whole system critique is rightfully there, but really is weakened by the messagers.

The stunts would be cool if they weren't put in such ugly slow motion. Also the houses being this incredibly light plywood makes it so much less impactful.

Also it is infuriating to see not one policeman aim for the wheels

I didn't quite get all the glorification. They were seen as heroes why again? Was it for simply being against the system? Or was it because truckers were treated unfairly and they were stepping up for their own rights? I didn't really get that. That narrative came out of the blue for me.

Also in general the whole movie is incredibly over dramatized. Nothing is simply driving down the road. No. It's a huge convoy of patriots. Fighting for freedom? A simple chase (a quite slow one actually) is intended to be intense? No.

I must say, even though I expected that ending from the moment he fell from that bridge, it still got me. I was smiling and was satisfied about that happy end. I guess I am just a sucker for that "oh he is not really dead!!" Trope. Thanks for that, BBC Sherlock series

Honestly, this is a pretty solid action film.

This is the redneck action movie—it’s got country music, trucks, women, beer, and guns. I’m not a redneck, and I hate country music, but I kind of loved this movie. It’s funny too—there’s some incredibly witty dialogue, along with funny and likeable characters, and, as I said before, some terrific action. Plus, it did the impossible: it made me think that truckers were actually cool. I never thought I’d see the day.

The cast in this film is amazing, and they all do great jobs. If I met a trucker, I feel like they’d probably act like one of these characters. It really seems like they were having a terrific time making this film and genuinely wanted to give it their all—and that’s exactly what they did.

Overall, this is a fun film that was a lot better than I expected. If you’re looking for a good, fun action movie, then watch this—you won’t be disappointed.
