Only really flirts with drama at the end as everything comes to a head, but the character animation sustains it to that point like good acting might in live action.

The strengths here are undeniable. The shot composition is incredible and the backgrounds are packed with detail, making the city feel huge and alive.

That said, it’s not flawless. The animation can feel a bit off in places, with characters occasionally gliding against the backgrounds in a way that’s distracting. The opening stretch also drags slightly, and I’m still a little torn on the character designs. 

Still, the ambition alone makes it worth watching, and there are moments here that absolutely soar.

The characters, colours, animations and details are done so well. The details in the city really bring it to life. Loved the use of music through out the film.
