Either I've been generous the past few watches with my high ratings for Civil War and Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, or I've struck gold three times in a row.
Lizzie Borden's depiction of prostitution is both raw, yet elegant, perfectly portraying the subject matter in a way of respect and geninuity. You come to understand these girls as the film progressed, they may fake an orgasm, but you have to do something in order to make money in a world that requires it. The ways these characters interact contributes to Borden's intentions of portraying these women as more than human works well with the story presented.
The decision to set this film over one day is a brilliant idea in order to depict the mentality of these women and elaborates on their interactions. They may be short and non-conplex, but these women are doing their jobs just as anybody would in a professional settings it just so happens that what these girls do goes against the social norms.
This is truly an underrated piece of feminist cinema and must be seen by anybody who appreciates the ways in which women try to support themselves in the world
