beautiful!! unfortunately the ending disappointed me. there’s a general trend now in horror & thriller to pass off the circumstances as explainable by both natural and supernatural events, only for realism to win out at the end. and i think that’s a cop out! retconning meredith’s death in order to give her this good for her cinema moment and making bruce’s torment hallucinatory is not only the less interesting option, it also undermines the point of everything we’ve seen. is his death grotesque? absolutely, but nevertheless, i think body-for-body justice negates the spiritual horror of what he’s done to these women. i don’t just want to see this guy bleed out, i want to see him tortured by the cosmos!! don’t dangle that carrot in front of me only to yank it away at the last minute.
