Very full and emotional documentary. Largely avoided righteousness but not at the cost of emotional characters and credit must go to not only the filmmakers but also the subjects themselves for speaking so eloquently but also passionately about issues close to their heart and their community.
While the doc was able to incorporate many historical moments, the second half felt like it slowed slightly. Not the point of being bored, but approached that it at times.
Cinematography was excellent throughout. Some of the landscapes in particular were gorgeous.
Overall, very good personal storytelling. Told a full story of the Lakota past and present through people with composed passion for their community.
