On a quest to watch every gay sports media I can find.... this one in particular, well, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece of some kind and this wasn't HORRIBLE but I was pretty disappointed even with my expectations.
The plot did not only feel boring but It just felt like things happened instead of feeling natural, besides there were too many second hand embarrassment moments... I know cringe is dead and all, but I really had to skip through the lip sync and that one dance scene.
I also didn't feel like the main relationship was that interesting surprisingly, though I did like Theresa the most as a character, they were fine which is CRAZY for me to say about a sapphic relationship because I tend to like them right away lksjldkaj.
I was also disappointed because my favorite part of womens sports are the found family sisterhood aspect of them and this felt like it barely had any. Even when they fixed it at the end, it felt so forced.... plus that coach was sooo insufferable, like how the hell am I supposed to root for the team here 😭. I will say I did like the family storyline and I liked that the sapphics had a happy ending, but idk expected to have more fun with this one.
