What in the unholy fuck is James Charles doing here?

This is a great step up from the first one. The jumpscares were better, and the atmosphere in this movie felt tense, which is great in horror movies like these. The characters are a little bit better explained, and there is much more to explore during the movie. This one also felt a little bit scarier, which was also great, definitely an upgrade from the first one.

this was a big improvement from the previous nun film, definitely won’t be jumping to rewatch it though..

its a lot better constructed than nun 1: it has a clear narrative and the characters felt more developed. the gothic visuals are amazing, and is perfectly shot. the lightning is perfect and the shadows add a nice touch. there’s a couple jumpscares which i’m obviously not a fan of, they’re whatever i guess. the first half of this movie is so slow and boring, but then the third act felt jarring, overbearing as literally too much was happening. the plot is formulatic and generic and this film was just a shrug. i didn’t dislike it, but i didn’t particularly like it either.

The Nun II’s only real accomplishment is being better than it’s predecessor… something that 95% of movies manage to do.
