Forced to leave Syria because of the war, Dounia and her grandparents go in search of a new safe haven. As she traverses the world in search of asylum, Dounia draws strength from the wisdom of the ancient world, brought to light by her grandmother's magic nigella seeds.

🤍 Le film trouve sa douceur dans la magie du folklore syrien pour mieux aborder et sensibiliser à des thèmes difficiles comme la guerre et ses conséquences sur les civils à travers les yeux d’une petite fille. Un peu trop magique et facile par moment mais ça reste une approche délicate pour ne pas effrayer les enfants. Le style graphique m’a beaucoup rappelé Le chant de la mer!

i feel like the ending was rushed but i like the overall message of not having to erase your identity and culture to fit in a new country, but instead using it to empower you and add something unique to the world.
