Just want to rant about why Mac Miller is one of my personal favorite music artists of all time real quick.
I didn’t exactly know about him nor of his death until around the time his last album Circles was released and wanted to listen to it (also the first album I heard from him). As soon as the first song started playing, my ears instantly felt at ease and were so enticed to his calming voice. The lyrics and instrumentals from the song were so beautiful to me that I instantly wanted to know more about who this guy was.
I discovered how much of a genuine, funny, chill, and passionate person he was and always seemed to enjoy life for what it was a lot of the time. Learning more about his young rapping career and how much he grew and impacted so many people was honestly really inspiring to me on a deeper level. I personally wasn’t in a good place at the time, but his more meaningful songs were more understanding of certain topics which made them comforting for me to listen to. Watching so many interviews and meaningful/funny moments of him instantly made me care about him so much.
But his untimely death was so devastating and depressing to me because of how much I cared about him and it was tragic that he didn’t get to grow old. Even though he didn’t get to make more music, it made me much more eternally grateful for the music that he did make and the emotional impact of his songs grew by a ton. My heart goes out to Malcom’s family, friends, and everyone else that’s either a fan or was impacted by his personality and music.
With all of that being said, This was genuinely one of the most well thought of and personal documentaries i’ve seen for one of my favorite artists of all time. Most Dope Forever Mac Miller and I miss you like you were a brother to me 🫂
“Have a good time man, have some fun. Having fun is okay. Get some love in your life whatever that be another person or just loving yourself man. Love is good spread love. Spread love.”
