Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini arrives in 1889 New York City and is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever seen.

-It's a shame that you're a woman, Mother.
You would have made an excellent man.
-Oh no, Mr. Mayor.
Men could never do what we do.

What kind of world do we want? And what will we do to achieve it?

I watch films for stories like this, it’s what connects us all at the end

Beautiful representation of Cabrini’s work. It truly shows the hardships of immigrants in the US. The actress show Cabrini's strength and struggles beautifully. The director remains faithful but unoriginal to this religious based story.
