In Paris, the student protests of December 1986. Alice Lazard is having her own revolution, expressing herself and trying to confront a world whose aggression and hatred ignite her fierce will to live and her madness. Or so we imagine. Swept away by her colorful language, her youth, her vivacity, her humor, we remain fascinated, and yet she expresses so much despair in the slow destruction of her relationship with a man... Romain, the creator of this character, is overwhelmed by her. He projects himself into another woman, Alice Lazard, brunette, warm, and aggressive. She comes to present herself to Romain for a role in his next film, but she doesn't understand his reactions at all. All of this unfolds under the sometimes amused, sometimes irritated gaze of Jean, the film's editor.

this movies visuals were actually everything. the dress alice wore was so cute, the whole movie was so eery and mysterious, disturbing yet so captivating? I just LOVE that they used aix of live action and stop motion aswell as the content use of taxidermy, stuffed animals and literally everyday items it just made the whole vibe so unsettling and honestly really fucking dark. it felt so reassuring and honestly abit homely in my opinion because it was a czech film so the slavic essence and also the language even though it's in czech there are some words so similar in russian ( bc they're both slavic ) just felt even more comforting watching this movie. I love the dialogue and it's the way the movie was shot. everything about it was genuinely so good, CRIMINALLYYYY underrated. this 1988 film needs more recognition aside from the very popular Alice in wonderland 1951 and the live action 2010 !!!!! I think this Czech adaptation needs alot more love!!!! the aesthetics are just ughhhhh chefs kiss !!
