I do think people, despite their ignorance, shouldn't give power to men that: 1) are pathetic, 2) have terrible facial hair, or 3) are british. Connery's character falls into that three categories.

One of those rare treats where a film I've been wanting to watch for ages lives up to my own expectations. Connery and Caine carry it with delightful performances as completely classes, asshole colonists and there are scores of extras in massive, expansive on location scenes... I miss that era of film making and wonder if we'll ever see it return.
