Really not sure what to say to you all. There’s very clearly a reason this has the cult following that it does. It takes you on a ride of discomfort, confusion, and even discontent. That being said it’s pretty remarkable how it leaves you feeling across the scenes and how impressive the practical effects and makeup are. I’m not entirely sure if I liked it but I am most certainly glad to have experienced it.

Gorgeous and visually compelling, full of imagination and unreal texture.

First time I watched this was in college. I was blackout drunk with my roommate and we sat horizontally on his bed while viewing the movie on his oversized computer monitor. My memory of that experience is hazy, and yet I cannot say I understood the film any more a second time around. What a feat.
