i don’t know why, but i have an urge to log every bad film i watched over the past week: and this was definitely a massive disappointment.
i probably watched this like a couple days after showgirls (a film i awarded for 5 stars, as it’s just a masterpiece) and i was expecting something like that, just probably not as good: and i was right about that. this movie is just a tonal mess, it’s a family drama, an erotic thriller, also having a little bit of a comedy aspect (if you could call it that) all that was just completely distracting, and the execution of all those ideas just fails honestly. the main reason being there’s too many concepts to the point none of them are truly developed, and makes a completely un engaging experience. the plot meanders, some scene drag out, the dance choreographies are fine but don’t hold anything to showgirls, and the plot has inconsistencies galore. i also hate how the other strippers besides demi moore are all portrayed as idiots, and i think that was kinda odd. but yeah, it’s straightforward ideas and messy script gives a product that isn’t very good.
