What a roller-coaster! This might be Al Pacino at his sleasiest, and McConaughey almost gets down to his level at points (but no one tops the king)! Pacino faking a heart attack, admitting to a gambling relapse, or his lived-in chemistry with Rene Russo are just some of the reasons that he's so incredible in this, and it was interesting to see him paired with someone like MM so far away from him on the character spectrum. Their relationship felt possible if not always realistic, and the stakes never feel insignificant - both of them gambling addicts, this story rips along with so much stressful intensity that by the end it will demand your full attention. I put it on for Pacino but roped my wife in with McConaughey, so maybe there's something here for everyone to enjoy! 😂 absolutely recommend
