yeah it's 1939 but i think a more effective climax here would have been the stagecoach being captured by the apaches and the warriors realizing that they are carrying a baby and her mother and they can't kill them. for a movie all about finding the collective humanity in each other across class boundaries it would have been interesting to see it applied to the one-note antagonists of the film. but. it's 1939
parents and i spent the entire movie CONVINCED buck was played by slim pickens, then realized it's not, then realized slim pickens played buck in the 1966 remake... psychic foresight ?
