This short film can be watched here: Opera (2020)
This visual work of art by director Erick Oh is a visually overwhelming piece of film. So much is happening in so many places all at the same time. Oh is making a commentary of human civilization, how we rise, and fall, and ultimately destroy ourselves--only to rise again, seemingly without learning from out past mistakes. The short film and Oh seem to be implying that religion is used to control the masses and is a major cause of the war the ultimately destroys us. (Until the forces of natures and space/time restart things).
I was intrigued by the key at the very bottom and the keyhole at the very top of the pyramid of life. It is as if Oh is saying that our real goal it to get the key to the top and open up a utopia for all--but, thus far, we are not even coming close.
I really liked this short film. It gave me something to think about and was hypnotizing to look at.
