This show helped me through the beginning of a pretty bad breakup, so it holds a special place in my heart. Regardless, this is a wonderful show. I love how Jin, Mugen, and Fuu slowly come to love each other over their long journey while they confront their respective pasts along the way. Not only are the characters and their relationships beautiful, the show is visually stunning. Every episode has a scene that blew me away, with an amazing soundtrack to go along with it.

I genuinely tried to enjoy and finish this anime, but it just felt too dull and tedious for me. A lot of the humor, especially Jin and Mugen’s jokes about women, came off as awkward rather than funny, and the plot became very predictable after a while. The antagonists were also pretty underwhelming and forgettable.

That said, I can still appreciate the incredible soundtrack and the unique animation style, those were easily the strongest parts of the show. Unfortunately, everything else felt like a chore to sit through, and by episode 18 I realized I was forcing myself to keep watching rather than actually enjoying it.
