“did we sentence a justified punishment today? did the punishment give the victim a sense of closure?”
first case: this case was so depressing, i almost stopped watching because i knew what the maximum years of sentence the law can give to young offenders. tbh, 20 years isn't enough to reflect for murdering and mutilating a child. i doubt she would realize the gravity of her actions and would change when she is freed. even the accomplice, 2 years in juvenile? that wouldn't change anything, really.
the line when the prosecutor said to the mother of the accomplice that what did she do to her child when he was nine and compare it to the mother of the victim who won't even have a chance to see her son because she lost him at eight years old. this line is stuck in my head.
“children who suffer from domestic abuse never grow up. time will pass by, but they will just remain as an abused child regardless of that.”
second case: i hate domestic abuse, especially if it's generational. what a child sees and hears, they will always remember it and carry it even until they are adult. i hate how the grandma chose to be blind with his husband's abuse to his son, resulting for him to inherit that and do it to his own daughter. it's a generational curse that if someone won't take a step forward, it will always repeat the cycle. glad that the victim and grandma finally able to take a breathe from those abuses. disciplining shouldn't equal to violence.
“legal guardians must feel the weight of their crimes.”
third case: valid crashout tbh. imagine your mother taking care of a lot of juvenile kids and they have the audacity to insult your mother. yeah, i would do the same :) but those children have a shitty home and parents so i understand that they didn't have the guidance they needed. the fault is in their parents who turned their backs on them. though that doesn't excuse their actions. and i hope sending them again in those facilities will allow them to reflect.
fourth case: this is the result of parents who are too focus with their work and keeps on pressuring their child. forgetting their responsibility as a parent. it's good that at the end, he realize what he really is fighting for and took responsibility as a parent for his child. it's just makes me sad that education system pushed those students too hard to the point where they needed to cheat. it shouldn't be that way. but in reality, this is still happening today.

fifth case: one thing i hate about this is no one was guilty of killing an innocent person. it was an unfair case where those four children didn't realize the consequences of their actions. i hate that these kids will continue to live their life without any guilt while their victims are dead and in vegetative state. i understand the girl for not speaking up at the court but that just proves how weak she is. she asked for help from the boy and he helped her. but what did she do in return? she didn't do anything. it's just sad that the boy clearly turned into a new leaf, but didn't get a chance to live the rest of his life.
i also hate the new presiding judge that always says that speed should be the focus. it's not. why sre you even in the law if you only think of making things faster? i hate her mindset that chose to be blind of other people's circumstances.
last case: i loathe sexual offenders. this case was so heavy. my heart aches for those victims who have to live with memories they didn't want to happen. those two kids just proves that if they aren't scolded or given punishment for what they've done, they won't realize on their mistakes. what's worse is that they killed a human being, an innocent child, just like them. if only the adults around them made them reflect on what they've done and how heinous to kill someone, they wouldn't turn out that way.
the ending is satisfying as the presiding judge realizes her mistake that speed isn't efficient, it is irresponsibility. i only hate when judge sim burn her child's photo :( i know its one way for other people to move on and heal but forgetting their face is just sad. still, this series is so good. made my eyes open to the reality and experiences of young offenders and their victims.

watching this series after taxi driver is actually not good. it's making me unsatisfied with the law system. with how they give sentences for young offenders. i know people are capable of changing, but it doesn't change the fact that they did a heinous crime of taking others lives for their own satisfaction. and when they repeat what they've done after they are freed? it means that they don't realize the severity of their actions. it just makes me sad that these things truly happen in real life.
