What started in 1975 with the disappearance of 20 people from a small town in Oregon, ended in 1997 with the largest suicide on US soil and changed the face of modern New Age religion forever. This four-part docuseries uses never-before-seen footage and first-person accounts to explore the infamous UFO cult that shocked the nation with their out-of-this-world beliefs.

i've been watching a lot of cult documentaries, sans the mass suicide they seems to be an endearing group of people

it’s been a while since I’ve cried over a documentary. but if Frank’s story about losing the love of his life doesn’t get you!! i wish him nothing but the best
really thought provoking and made me consider the mechanisms behind how cults indoctrinate and create devoted members. i think all cult documentaries should have the socialogists in them because it humanized these people. like it really can happen to anyone. the idea of these people breaking down their identities is TERRIFYING but interesting and sad at the same time. i’ll never watch a cult doc the same
