Racket Boys
I cried every episode of this kdrama, and with each one, I felt myself growing closer to them. I realized so many things because of them, and somehow, they became my home. I love the friendship Hae-kang and his friends built, and I hope we all find a friendship like theirs someday—not just friendships like theirs, but also people like those in the village and coaches who were always by the kids' sides. They are my home, and i’m still not ready to let them go :)

“win together, lose together”

as someone who loves badminton, this series actually feels so comforting. i adore this so much. this deserves way more love and recognition : P wish i could watch it for the first time againnnn ~

[ disclaimer : my reflection shi which contains tons of spoiler xD ]

up until now, whenever i remember the fact that hae-kang’s mom gave up her olympic dream because she was pregnant and said that she would never regret her decision—that it was more valuable than an olympic medal—it always makes my heart warm < 3 personally, i couldn’t do the same. just by thinking about working so hard to reach my goal and ending up sacrificing it because of love or a kid makes me think of myself as someone foolish xD guess, that’s how selfish i am : ) i am so proud of coach ra for choosing her kid over anything else < 3

“mr. bae paid for this competition out of his own pocket.”

big salute to coach bae ! even after all the insults and stuff he experienced, he stayed kind and did not lose his will and passion for teaching and sharing his expertise and skills with the passionate athletes. he’s definitely one of the best coaches ^__^

“i know nothing about badminton . . but i get why you love badminton so much and why you had to stay here. woo-chan, give your best to your passion.”

ARGH the moment woo-chan found out that his father was actually watching his game. he was actually supporting his son from afar and would gladly fight those who speak ill about his son : (

“but most of the kids listen to their parents when they pick that goal.”

i can vouch xD i am currently in the stage of choosing a career to pursue, and one of the main reasons why i’ve decided to pursue [redacted] is because mama told me so. she said that this is better and is much more practical : P

“you think people end their lives for some grand reasons like failed businesses or so on. no. these mere words you speak can kill people.” : )

“let’s not just survive anymore. let’s live a good life.”

to think that they are alive because hae-kang gave them curry : ) ARGH i love them so much, they’re so sweet !

“winning is great, of course, but i want to be part of a team where it’s okay to lose and we can support each other. of course, we won’t lose, either.”

i love their friendship so much. they always help each other improve and grow.

“i like you, see-yoon. much more than you can imagine.”

GAWDDD they are each other’s comfort. they only show their true emotion and can be vulnerable to each other.

“turning 17 sounds great.”

as someone who’s currently seventeen and is turning eighteen this year, seventeen is definitely the peak year of teenage years. if i could stay at this age, i would : )

“with yoon-dam, hae-kang, woo-chan, yong-tae, and in-sol . . you guys made an average player and below average coach like myself . . feel pretty good about myself.”

and of course, to the best coach who always studies every move so that he will be able to find the flaws and help improve his players, coach yoon ! i love his character so much < 3

. . now, take me back to the first time i watched racket boys ; P
