“People are like dice… we can roll ourselves in any direction”

It’s been years since i first watch Black Lagoons and i’ve been watching it on and off for the last few months and i forgot how much i love this world and its characters i ADORE Rock and Revy’s dynamic and think about their conversations, arguments and the cigarette kiss often, also in the final episode when THAT moment happens with Yukio the way Revy screams at Rock “Don’t look at her Rock, Look at me” i feel is one of those small details that shows how much Revy really cares.
 I plan to watch Roberta Blood Trail since i never originally watched that and then plan to continue into the manga but this still continues to be not only one of my favorite anime’s but one of my favorite cast of characters especially of women none of them are just the typical sexualized fan servicey anime women they all actually have character depth and are rarely if ever sexualized, who can hate dual wielding nazi killing merc like Revy.

I liked it! It is prone to leer at its female characters but at least women are depicted in a cooler way than media (especially Japanese media) usually shows them. I really like Rock and Revy, their dynamic towards the end of the series is really fun and more grounded than in the beginning where Revy is just like a violent loose cannon for no reason. 

The ways in which violence changes you and becoming a criminal isolates you from “civilized society” is explored a lot in Black Lagoon. Rock is obviously a character who resents the poor treatment which is common among working class japanese people, being essentially discarded by his boss in the early episodes. Revy frequently talks about the fact that people in their line of work are doomed to live out their violent pursuits of wealth and power until death. 

I like the dub and the cursing sounds more natural than any other anime I’ve seen.
