"A wise man knows when his time is ended."
Overall:
As I continue to watch, I realise how the actions and motivations of some characters are not justified at all and they do certain things just for the sake of moving the plot forward. Therefore I would say the writing is not so great for the show, since a great story shouldn't allow you to notice the intentions of the writer and that the writer is controlling the characters.
I liked how they used this story to reveal how feudal Japan used to work like and how women influenced the system even though they didn't hold any power. However, gotta admit that this show is somewhat overrated. Did people rate it higher because critics said it is brilliant?
Episode 1: 9/10
Not a very big fan of the textual way of providing context, a voiceover with some cool scenes would have been so much better. Also, who uses fade in transition for the text to appear (ewww).
idk why but the foggy atmosphere feels fake.
"14 years and 3 months" small detail but reveals a lot about the emotions of the character.
Episode 2: 9/10
Sick attire!!
I hate the night scenes, it is so annoying in the dark.
How much money was Father Martin Alvito offered to get that haircut?
Mariko's performance is phenomenal, I love those expressions!!
Episode 3: 10/10
PLOT ARMOUR!!!
Episode 4: 8/10
Icl, I have no reason to continue watching this since I already know what will happen ultimately. But if I have started it, I shall finish it too.
Episode 5: 10/10
Amazing dinner they had. Perfect drama.
Episode 6: 9/10
Episode 7: 8/10
This "mediocre brother" of Toranaga's acting is questionable, his facial reactions do not closely match his movements, giving a vibe of overacting.
Episode 8: 9/10
49 days of mourning?! This is just cheap writing atp.
It has ceased to be interesting anymore.
Episode 9: 9/10
Endgame begins ig.
Episode 10: 8/10
Kinda disappointing ngl.
