**What kind of superhero is insecure about their own superpower?
**
This is going to be one of my favorite K-dramas so far. It was recommended by my girlfriend, and I’m pretty sure she knew my taste.
It’s so cool how they can romanticize the situation like this. They use the superpower problem to create a romantic situation then flip it into a solution that allows the characters to stay together, making the issue no longer a barrier. This genuinely gave me a fresh perspective on how a romance can begin through a supernatural conflict.
I was upset with those bullies, yet it still wasn’t bad enough to be crash out. They handled it really well, slowly building the tension until it finally reached a point where all of us thought it crossed the line and couldn’t let it slide anymore. And they didn’t forget about the male bully either, he got what he deserved too.
I love how they handle the foreshadowing, the story plants hints early on and then pays them off later. The story didn't introduce things randomly, each episode connects to the next in a logical way. When something important happens, it feels earned because it was clearly set up before, and the explanation makes sense instead of feeling confusing or forced.
Now we finally get to see the guy with regenerative powers fight 1 on 1. Gotta say, the fight was peak, intense and incredibly fun to watch. The action sequences were smooth and flowed perfectly, making the whole scene literally impressive.
It wasn’t just about the fight scene either. We got one of the best shots of the episode, a long one-shot entirely inside the car, driving nonstop and building tension. I did notice a small mistake during the driving scene, but honestly, it was still very impressive. Best shot.
Better than all of that, we got a truly emotional moment. Two best friends, who have been drifting apart, finally get the chance to talk about their feelings, Son and mom finally open up for each other (two ppl arguing abt how they feel is gonna be my fav genre). And what kind of superhero is insecure about their own powers? Yeah, that’s Bongseok. He starts realizing he’s been wasting his potential and questioning himself why he hasn’t made his power useful. This time, he takes a step toward using it.
By the way, it also turns a dangerous situation into a romantic moment, where the characters reveal their feelings for each other, then quickly turn it back into a disaster. This level of the conflict and solution need to be study.
Gotta say, it has the climax scene we’ve been waiting for. The choreography was realistic, especially with the sound effects and soundtrack. Character entrances, like Ganghoon’s dad, were perfectly timed and matched in action, it just made the scene look even cooler.
This wasn’t just about the fight scenes, it also helped us connect with the villains. Instead of simply hating them, we’re able to understand them. Each flashback we learned more about them and it add a lot more to their characteristics, making their deaths feel impactful, so this emotional.
What a beautiful ending. This story doesn’t end like others that simply finish the plot, on the contrary, it ends in a complete and satisfying way (finished story and completed story is different) everything that starts here also ends here, no more and no less. The characters get what they deserve, the audience gets what they want, and the story feels whole. It doesn’t feel forced, rushed, or dragged out, it ends at exactly the right time.
The story may be over, but it feels like just the end of the beginning. It also sets up a new story for us, and it does so naturally and meaningfully.
