**„Bocchi the rock“ x „John Wick“**
This is a great mix of slice of life elements and crime/action. I mean we even have the slice of life classic „aquarium episode“ in here.
What makes this show what it is tho is the likability of mostly all characters. Even the ones that are introduced to be assholes or straight up lunatic terrorists have their likable moments and don’t seem like villains at all sometimes.
„Everyone thinks what they do is the right thing“ to quote the show directly.
This obviously shines through the most with
the two main heroines whose personalities play of each other very well, making for a fun and wholesome dynamic.
If I had to complain about one thing it’d had to be that I felt very mixed about the action. Sometimes it was very great and sometimes it felt a bit lackluster.
Overall this has to be one of my favorite comfort shows. It has a unique charm, the characters are all pretty lovable and the show balances on the line of „wholesome sweetness“ and „dark terror“ very well, even tho the wholesomeness mostly overweighs the gloomy stuff. And finally I have to say, that it didn’t loose any of its charm on a second watch.
