Liv (Melissa Barrera) is a fancy pants lawyer, who doesn’t have the time or interest for relationships, of the romantic or family kind. When she needs to make an urgent visit (or initial indeterminate reason) to a small Canadian town, weather hampers her plans, until she hitches a ride with National Geopraphic photog Sam (Austin Stowell) in a charter flight.
Probably should have listened to those weather warnings Liv, as the plane goes down stranding her in the wilderness, where she just use her survival instincts, her long ago Girl Scout know-how and regular flashbacks to help her escape her plight and sort through the parental abandonment issues that stop her from pursuing love with co-worker Danny (Jeff Willbusch).
Keep Breathing is nothing particularly ground breaking, but Barrera is bad ass in her determination to survive, and the flashback via long form format allow her life circumstances to unfold as intriguing mystery.
I was a Cub Scout and I retained ZERO survival skills. My only hope is to be on a plane with Melissa Barrera. Or Rachel McAdams.
