I like how unique NWR is as a director, you could go into one of his movies completely blind and immediately know he’s behind it - I like his use of neon lighting, most attempts made by directors to use neon lighting are often pretty crap and they pale in comparison to NWR
That’s all I really have to say on the positive side for Copenhagen Cowboy, other than the fact that it is shot and scored really well - the issue I have with this show is that it takes all of those stylistic aspects and presents them at their best, but with little substance to the story
The show is also very slow - six episodes is an ideal length for a miniseries but it seems as though all of the intrigue I had at the start of the show had completely dissipated by the 22 minute mark - when all you have is intrigue and no pay off it makes the story seem like it’s dragging
[I’m not going to give this a ⭐️ rating yet because it’s unfair to rate the whole show if I haven’t seen it in it’s entirety and I will probably revisit this in the future - but at the moment I don’t really wanna continue with it, it seems too self indulgent and boring which I’m now realising is a common consensus amongst the people who have seen the show]
