“You might very well think that. I couldn’t possibly comment”
I don’t watch much television. Dozens of hours invested in something that is likely to end horribly. Not like films. Films don’t have countless hours worth of content and everything is wrapped up 2 hours. This show disproves my theory. Although it’s a miniseries my earlier point still applies.
This show shows what ambition does to people. Urqhuat has no ambition for being the prime minister at the start, but at the end it is a totally different story. Ian Richardson gives a cold performance as Francis Urqhuat that I personally enjoy. His dry and professional tone gives him a respectable yet threatening tone. He is the puppet-master and does everything he can to get his way.
This show is soooooooo underrated and considering that it’s only 4 hours it should be watched a lot more. I think it might be hard to understand if you’re not British but it doesn’t really delve deep into the inner workings of British politics but just politics in general.

sorry i genuinely had a visceral reaction to mattie calling urquhart daddy because i didnt see it coming at all. does anyone know why she was into him im gonna have to really mull that one over.
ian richardson has the best knowing smile though he really spends the entire series going 😼 and it's great every time. i was so gripped in the last episode i literally had to pee with this shit on because i didnt want to look away or pause it.
