i wanted to give this 5 stars so bad but, in its short 4 episode run, the content felt a bit crammed. their love triangle would’ve been more interesting if they developed their high school days more, the rape plot point felt abrupt and not explained enough, and maybe myung’s giving up singing, giving up of her career could’ve been more impactful and sad. i also couldn’t shake of the sense of sexism in their love triangle but these are just nit-picky critiques and doesn’t take away from the fact that this is probably the best iteration of macross.
