What would you do if you had one year left to live?
When the world is ending, and people are staying true only to their hedonistic desires, it’s surprising how the invisible threads of expectation still linger, tugs and tides that creep their way to puppeteer our lives. Abiding by them, we perform, even in an empty theatre, as if someone is watching, and perhaps we are, or perhaps we simply cannot stop ourselves.
We are taken on this journey accompanying Carol, in a world where she is surrounded by people who are “achieving” something, where instant connections and love are sought after, questioned, and abandoned so quickly. Yet she finds comfort in the office, in familiarity, a place that hasn’t yet descended completely into madness, and solace in its routine.
I especially loved the symbolic elements scattered throughout this show, and I’m always fascinated by human nature, which these few episodes wonderfully illustrate.
Well, here’s one thing I’m glad I didn’t cancel my Netflix subscription for :)
