Just watched this again to remember one of the best world cup tournaments ever, I also watched it again to remember the years when I used to watch the world cup and champions league during class and how mad my teachers would get. World cup 2022 will always have an important space in my heart,

I just found this on letterboxd and though I have watched this when it actually came I have to talk about this.
My love for football has been there since I used to play it when I was in second grade on sports hour. Slowly I started watching football on TV and got gravitated to playing style of one team, Barcelona. That team consisted of stars and world class players but mainly it had the goat 🐐 Lionel Andreas Messi. Anyone who is a Messi fan can't forget the day December 18,2022. I still vividly remember every moment of the day, I was very tensed the whole day and I also had a dentist appointment to take out two teeth this just added to my nervousness. Argentina was facing the defending champions france led by mbappe who was having an unforgettable World Cup campaign. I think the match started around 6 30 to 7 and Argentina started strong and scored two goals very quickly. They looked invincible, after the second goal I threw a chair onto the tv out of excitement (thank God it missed). Mbappe out of nowhere scored two and leveled the score, I have never been more scared in my entire life. This was turning out to be a classic match. Both the teams scored one goal each again but for me the most unforgettable moment in the match came in the last minute when martinez made that save, my heart must have skipped a beat there, my brain could not process that save properly and I could only react after the ball was cleared. Quite easily the most important save in football. Messi after the penalties finally won the world Cup, the one he was waiting for all his career. Peter drury's commentary is still etched into my mind. I cried with my goat after he finally lifted the one thing he was looking for. The level of excitement and the rollercoaster of emotions I went through cannot be replicated.
This day was definitely one of the best days in my life and probably the most important.

Such a perfect and unique way to capture the excitement and energy of the most special sporting event in the world. The series follows the captains of a lot of the teams in the world cup, including their unique stories and interactions with teammates. It provides such an insightful behind the scenes look in the locker rooms, teammate interactions, and fan experiences. It demonstrates the global community feel of the tournament and the overwhelming excitement that comes with it, both in the stadium and out of it in different countries around the world. Every match is just as enthralling as if you were experiencing it for the first time again.
