Hal & Harper is such a raw, emotionally devastating show that’s hilarious and actually kind of perfect. This show does such a wonderful job in portraying grief and parental issues, both which I resonated wholeheartedly with. It’s not loud, instead it’s fairly subtle and calm at most times and it does everything it needs to absolutely perfectly, even the soundtrack is perfect.
Cooper Raiff has crafted something so beautiful here and much like his other projects Cha Cha Real Smooth and Shithouse, I can’t help but relate to this. A lot of experiences Cooper displays in his projects are much like my own and this show was no less than the others and I’m so glad I can see my own self in his projects.
Every performance in this was fantastic in every way but I’d just love to focus on Lili Reinhart a little because she was just phenomenal. Her character was the absolute rock of this show and she was behind the wheel steering it all the way through, what a sensationally layered performance.
I love this show so so much and I can’t wait for whatever Cooper has in store next, I know it’ll be great.
