*A SERIOUS REVIEW FROM ALYCIA!?*** It’s more likely than you think.
I’m completely biased given that I’m from North Carolina and have spent extended time down in the low country but holy shit. I’ve been locked into this murder since the day it happened and this show was such an interesting take on it. Sure, there were parts I wish were done a bit differently (I have very little sympathy for a family that enables such destructive behaviour) but still. Old money southern families are fucking terrifying.
No matter your opinion (he did it) everyone in this acted their asses off. Jason Clarke and Patricia Arquette ate this up. The accents are insane, made me homesick. The wardrobe? I’ve seen all of my friend’s rich mothers in Maggie’s outfits. Johnny Berchtold really captured the nightmare that is a kid with too much money and little to no consequences and Will Harrison had to have had fun with playing Buster because he did it well.
TLDR; as a tar heel I’ve never trusted a gamecock.
