Surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. It’s really hard to capture the tone and comedy from a sitcom 20 years ago in a revival series today but I think the team behind this did as good as they could. Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek and especially Bryan Cranston are the highlights of this as expected, Malcom’s daughter as a character is solid and just getting to see all the characters again is fun.

Fun little revisit

The absolute joy I got when this was announced is incomparable. No but in all seriousness this was a very cute and fun little revisit to the Malcolm family.

Especially loved all the attention that Hal got, the absolute best character from the original show, and deserved every bit of praise he got in this mini.

Unfortunately it kind if has that expensive but somehow still cheap look to it that gave me the sense that this had all been rushed along. There was something so appealing about the old set design so to see everything changed (even though it actually served as a little plot point) was extremely unfortunate.

I do wish that we could have gotten a few more episodes, because the storyline does get so incredibly rushed with everyone becoming (somewhat) pals quite quickly.
