finally finished this night and as a person who has visited the annexe and read the diary twice along with watching various adaptations, this is just about the most accurate one i have witnessed. i think that the first part was that ellie kendrick looked so so similar with anne, not to mention the other family members too. they captured the annexe and fear of discovery perfectly to the point where they were holding their breath when they heard footsteps. i grew myself to sympathise so much with the characters that at some points I found myself actually holding my breath simultaneously. I think that I longer series, depicting anne’s prior life to the war, during the annexe and life in the camps is what the BBC need to do next. id love to see this alongside ‘my best friend anne frank’, another one of my favourite holocaust-anne frank movies.
