The Line of Beauty
beautiful film!

first of all, i’d like to acknowledge the ripper soundtrack: New Order, Spandau Ballet (x2), Duran Duran and The Clash (x2)!

I don’t know why but this didn’t really grab me as much as I expected it to? I can acknowledge this is a very good film but it didn’t really keep me interested, which is odd because when I read the synopsis it seemed rather interesting, bad execution perhaps? or maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood for this film. Who knows? Otherwise, Nick and Wani’s tragically doomed love story definitely pulled at my heartstrings, and also Nick and Leo’s intense, brief relationship and how Leo sort of kept Nick in mind even after their years of no contact was interesting.

i’m 100% sure I probably missed some key themes and parts of the storyline but watching this felt the same as skimming over an article, looking for a particular fact or section and not reading the entire page. I have no idea why (and don’t blame a short attention span because I have a pretty good attention span thanks).

I plan on rewatching this again sometime in the future to re-rate as maybe a re-watch would warrant it to move up into my favourites.
