It’s sad how i forgot this show. this show had a massive impact on me and i haven’t revisited it recently, but i remember it vividly.
the framing is amazing. it is unique to other shows by using still shots and it adds to the unique style the show uses.
i love elliot’s unique complexity. i haven’t seen disassociative identity disorder done as well as this. there are moments in the show that are so felt, like the christmas episode in season 4, or season 3 episode 8 with elliot and the kid.
tyrell wellick is such an interesting character psychoactively. his unorthodox ending was so completing for me, which wasn’t what i expected.
elliot’s drive and being willing to use other people for what he wants makes for fun watches, and having a main character that you could say is morally gray, and a narrator that doesn’t know all the pieces, or doesn’t let us know all of them…that is what really set apart the show for me.
it deserves a revisit soon. i cherish this show so much. it was my favorite for so long, and was fundamental for me.
thank you sam esmail.
