been itching to revisit this since the Infamous Great Comet Phase (let’s be honest… we’ve always been in a great comet phase) and it has definitely shifted opinion wise and reminiscing from first watch a decade (!!) ago:
princess mary is an academy award winner! anatole and dua lipa are an item! nikolai is married to an irish princess (saoirse ronan)! dolokhov was in furiosa? what do you mean natasha rostova played pamela anderson? get outta here!
despite its biggest sin (gillian anderson’s one-shoulder opening dress… who approved that) this adaptation still has that mid 2010s period piece charm that i still yearn for.

Balaga is who? Bolkonsky is crazy Mary is NOT plain Dolokhov is hot Hélène is a slut Anatole is a twink Marya is who? (again) Sonya is dumb Natasha is dumber (me) And Andrey isn’t here (but hot)
