Despite the inseperable bitterness of the characters there’s something very hopeful and exhilarating about Horace and Pete, idk the fuck it is but i feel it when Paul Simon’s music hits the spot. I won’t say it isn’t self indulgent at times because it is, but its his bar and he, Louis C.K. can say anything ; is the logic he follows. He’s always been pretty adamant about how saddness spreads in your life however it starts and he uses “death of the Small American Business” as the setting to say whatever he wants because he’s sure at least the walls of Horace and Pete’s will listen.
