From the first two episodes, this became like one of my favorite tv shows. This unique blend of noir, coming of age, character study and waking dreams has everything I could want out of it.
The jumps between timelines and surreal sequences, all tied together with crooner jazz, are distinct and delicious.

Find it strange that Time Magazine counts this as one of the "Top 100 Best Movies of All Time" when, in reality, it's a miniseries. It's very good, but like with any other TV series (and this is the main reason why I don't like TV), the duration was my biggest issue. Wonderful finale though.
